What is a Long-term Care Ombudsman?
An Ombudsman is a compassionate advocate who helps seniors navigate care facilities, ensuring their voices are heard.
Acting as a bridge between residents and facility staff, they address concerns about neglect and rights.
A Voice For Vulnerable Seniors
Sonoma County’s Long-term Care Ombudsman program is a vital component of long-term care services. We provide a voice for vulnerable seniors who may feel overwhelmed, fearful or ashamed to communicate problems of abuse and neglect, be it physical, sexual, emotional, verbal or financial. An ombudsman can help you address concerns about neglect and abuse. By investigating concerns and educating individuals about their rights and available services, registered ombudsman empower seniors and their families to make informed care decisions.
