I am a Sonoma County native and find it extremely important to give back to my community. Additionally, I am a trust and estates attorney at Galanti & Copenhaver, Inc., here in Santa Rosa and also practice in the area of elder law. Through my time in my legal practice I have seen horrific situations, where vulnerable elder dependent adults have been taken advantage of by both strangers and those closest to them.

I also work with dependent adults experiencing mild, moderate, and severe dementia. Both my grandfather and my grandmother developed dementia in their later years. It was difficult to watch them lose their cognitive functioning. My mother worked through the disease with them until ultimately my grandfather and grandmother passed away. The benefit for my grandparents was that they had my mother to look after them. Many do not have someone to provide for elders and safely guide and protect them until the end of their days.

I found Senior Advocacy Services early in my career and was immediately drawn to the advocacy work they provide to one of our most vulnerable populations in Sonoma County. I began to donate to the organization and ultimately was drawn to sit on the board in order to give my time to this wonderful organization. I am honored to be a part of such a great cause, seeking to guide and protect our elders.
